Comforts ~ Day 15 or Rain

Raining (Photo credit: Wikipedia):

Three things I am thankful for today:

1. It is raining so I do not have to water the garden.

2. It is raining so my husband is getting a much-needed day off work.

3. It is raining—but not too much—no gales, no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no hail.  Just enough rain to leak into my front hall closet, but nowhere else. And I have a big bowl in there to catch it. So no biggy. Nothing like the people in the southern United States. So I am grateful.

  1. Hi LouAnn – glad your rain is of the gentle variety. So is there a hurricane over there or what? Glad you are okay. Juliex

  2. I live in southwestern Ontario – quite a long way from the southern States–but I watch some American TV and they are having quite a time of it – the Republican National convention has been put on hold–here we are just getting a bit of rain, but thanks so much for being concerned 🙂

  3. I like rainy days like you’re having, and except for the leaky closet, I’d be a happy camper all the way around. Enjoy!

    • I don’t mind rainy days either – as long as the weather is not crazy to go along with it

  4. It’s raining here too but I’m working from home so yes, it’s A-OK!!

    • me too, so as long as it does not rain on my laptop I can get my stuff done for the paper

  5. Wow… I was amazed at the end of your post. How calm you are about your leak. You’re right of course, but I would probably overreact. 🙂

    • we have had the leak for awhile–I was not so calm when it first started –funny what you can get used to

  6. Gentle rain is the beautiful rain 😀

    Choc Chip Uru

    • yes it is — it is varying a bit – some gentle, some a bit harder–but we need it

  7. It hasn’t rained much here yet today. Send it on over. I love a rainy night. And now I have that song in my head..

    • and it won’t leave your head forever — it gets stuck and just keeps on going doesn’t it (lol)

  8. What a sweet outlook. I love a rainy, cozy day, but NOT in the summer!

    • I understand – but since I am not a real summer person it does not bother me.

      • That makes sense.

  9. When it’s raining, I tell my children G-d is watering the lawn.

  10. It rained here today, Lou Ann. But I really love the rain sometimes. I hope you had a nice day today despite the clouds and you’re doing great with the whole moving thing yesterday with your “baby.” Be well!

    • I am getting through it – I have tough times but they will go away. I love rain sometimes too — except in November

  11. Hi. We have the same gratefuls except I am grateful that hurricane Isaac did not continue its path into South Florida beyond the Keys. It decided to go west into the gulf coast instead. I pray for all those souls who live in the gulf coast area.

  12. We had a gulley washer today, but we were in need….hopefully the hurricane will not bear down too hard on the south.

  13. I hope some of that rain comes my way! 🙂

  14. I wish I could say the same about the rain here but unfortunately we’ve got a full force typhoon headed our way in the coming days…… Still, it’s nice to get a respite from the heat. 😉 Now let’s just hope my city doesn’t flood….

    • you are right – I am fortunate not to be in the way of the brunt of a storm – good luck, hope it is better than predicted (hugs)

  15. You are so wonderfully upbeat about the rain. I’d be in a panic over the leak. It makes me realize that I can either look over-react to problems or relax and take things in stride.

  16. Love this spin on positivity!

  17. Rained here too, just in time for the move…that’s good luck, right?

  18. Rain! We’ve had so much this year but nothing to threaten anyone’s llife though some livelihoods are being damaged as crops are failing.

However, without the rain we wouldn’t have such a beautiful green land!

    Have a good weekend 🙂

  19. its raining here too. just enough to be pretty outside but enough to put 2 inches of water in the basement. good news/bad news.

    • I know what basement flooding is all about – and I am sorry — it is such a pain
