Wind Surf

Gust of wind blows leaves

Helter, skelter, hither, yon

Neat piles scattered…………

Fallen autumn leaves

  3. A perfect picture of my backyard on this blustery cold afternoon.

  4. Last night we were at a football game. I was sitting in the car (it was cold…) and the leaves were scuddering along the pavement, scratching it, blowing helter skelter. Your poem reminds me of that.

  5. No neat piles of leaves here. We’re much too lazy to rake, so it’s all helter skelter for us, all the time.

    • us too, though sometimes we have to–mostly we try to mulch them with the lawnmower

      • That’s our strategy for leaf rustling too. It works pretty well in rural settings.

      • works in town too–though I bet our neighbours do not always love our methods

  6. Winds are definitely getting strong here too and apparently a quickie storm is expected here in the UK soon. Also, you are getting really good at this haiku thing! Not that you weren’t before but they keep getting better and better. Just thought you’d like to know. ;)

  7. Love this one, and your title is perfect. :)

  8. Calm day here at the cottage….wouldn’t mind a bit of a wind to carry the leaves helter skelter…..maybe blow them away so we wouldn’t have to rake…..feeling lazy today.

    • calm days are good – yesterday was really crazy windy–it has calmed down here today
